Rob Martin, owner of Great Divide Home Builders has
been building custom homes for over 30 years. With a background in
architecture and the skill that comes with many years of experience, our
homes are not only beautiful and functional but meticulous in detail.

photos of different architectural or design elements you like: a
sprawling front porch, an airy cook’s kitchen, a loft with a family

in. Because we do all our own design work using three-dimensional
software, you can see exactly how your custom home looks before we ever
break ground at the building site. We work very carefully on our plans
working towards nice, open, flowing plans that reflect the artistic
vision of the home owner. We at Great Divide also pay close attention to
the trend toward homes that have less environmental impact meeting or
exceeding Energy Star efficiency standards. The results are houses
that are incredibly workable and suited to Montana’s environment and
landscape.
Rob Martin, Owner
Rob Martin, a native of Alaska, moved to Montana in 1973 to study
architecture at Montana State University in Bozeman. Rob moved to
Helena from Bozeman in 1998. His business, which was known as
Martin Construction and Cabinetry, had focused on custom homes,
cabinetry, and specialty trim work for 25 years. Rob changed the
name to Great Divide Home Builders, with a focus on quality residential
homes. Rob currently is the vice-president of Helena Building
Industry Association and is very involved in the government affairs of
HBIA, serving as chair for over two years. Rob stays knowledgeable
on all current regulations, codes, and zoning initiatives throughout
Helena city limits and Lewis and Clark county. Rob Martin has a
strong work ethic and takes tremendous pride in the details of designing
and building a home from top to bottom.
Rob is also currently the President of the Helena Building Industry Association (HBIA).
Subcontractors
Great Divide Home Builders uses highly skilled local craftsman when
building all their homes. All subcontractors are fully insured and
have been hand picked for their pride in workmanship and attention to
